Lawyer
Specialisation: Personal injury
Year of swearing-in: 2016
Areas of focus: traffic accidents, victim cases, legal status of police officers, civil proceedings.
Diwi studied law at Maastricht University. During her studies, she was already interested in liability and personal injury, on which she based her optional subjects. She gained her first work experience in the talent team of Achmea Personenschade. Her goal was to become a personal injury lawyer, which is how she came to be sworn in as a trainee lawyer at our firm. Through her experience at Achmea, Diwi knows both sides of the personal injury practice. This comes in handy when a case gets stuck, as she has insight into an insurer's way of thinking. In addition to regular personal injury practice, she acts for victims in criminal cases. She is part of our team of lawyers who act for police officers who are injured on duty. She also litigates for victims and survivors in civil proceedings (partial disputes, proceedings on the merits). For Diwi, dropping out is not an option. If her counterpart does not move in a debate on matters of principle, she sees it as a challenge in which the best in her comes out.
