Our story

Who are we?

Your interests as an accident or crime victim or survivor are in good hands with us.

We are a specialised medium-sized law firm with offices in Kerkrade and Maastricht. We are at home in Limburg but represent clients throughout the Netherlands. We also act for clients from abroad, in case they face accidents or crimes within our national borders.

Specialisation is a conscious choice. From our specialisations in personal injury, victim cases and health law, the person is at the centre. And that person can be very different, young or old, employee or entrepreneur, serious injury or minor injury. Our approach does not differ, it is always the same, depending of course on the case we take up for you. Whether you are the victim of an accident in traffic, or at work, victim or survivor of a crime, from expertise our focus is on people. We are inherently very committed to our clients.

We have extensive knowledge and experience in settling personal injury and death claims. Click here To get an idea of the business we do.

Pennino Lawyers

In our areas of law, we can count ourselves among the most experienced and knowledgeable firms in the Netherlands. We invest in thorough in-house training of young lawyers and jurists associated with our firm.

We work as a team. Each team consists of a specialised and experienced lawyer, lawyers and a secretary. This ensures optimal accessibility and multiple professionals are involved in your case.

What makes our office special? We are on your side and look after your interests from A to Z. We understand our profession, have a well-developed strategic nose and go the extra mile. That is what you can expect from us.

Naturally, we go for the best result. We have sound and up-to-date knowledge and a great deal of experience and expertise in negotiation and litigation. We closely follow developments in law and jurisprudence and think in terms of solutions.

Every organisation is unique. And so is every law firm. We employ people who are good listeners, who are motivated and who use their knowledge, experience and creativity to achieve the best result.

Methodology

We are, in everything we do, focused on quality. The legal profession is, in essence, about the strength of the argument. That is what makes the difference. Whether it is an opinion, a second opinion or a strategic or litigious choice, the argument is what makes the difference. A position is supported by arguments. A choice is made on the basis of arguments.

Putting down and developing a good argument requires attention and focus. That could be called the craftsmanship of the legal profession. Focus means that we closely follow legislation and case law, and keep up to date with the legal literature. Focus also means that we properly assess and research the facts in each case.

We speak an understandable language. No fuss. To look after someone's interests properly, you have to speak their language. Understanding each other gives confidence. We do not hide behind difficult words.

We are committed realists. Better one bird in the hand, than ten in the sky. It is no good for you to be saddled with tense, unrealistic, expectations. And neither do we. We go for what is achievable. But completely.

Our lawyers work in small teams

Our lawyers have weekly consultations. During these, new cases are discussed and the handling lawyer receives input from various angles. This enhances quality and prevents tunnel vision. Sparring with each other on a case always yields something. “Think with me” is often heard within our firm. Cooperation in this way offers real benefits. The other person's perspective always adds something.

Memberships

We are a law firm. Lawyers are legal professionals who have been sworn in by the court and have successfully completed the professional training of lawyers. In the Netherlands, only lawyers are authorised to act on behalf of their clients in legal proceedings before the courts and tribunals. Lawyers are bound by the Lawyers Act and code of conduct. We subscribe to the five core values of the legal profession: independent, partisan, expert, integrity and confidentiality. Lawyers are members of the Dutch Bar Association and are obliged to keep their knowledge up to date through continuing education. Moreover, we are bound by disciplinary rules.

Specialist associations

We have been members of various specialisation, knowledge and network associations for many years, which are perfectly in line with our areas of law and practice. Keeping our knowledge up to date and maintaining mutual contacts contributes to our quality.

National Personal injury hallmark

We were one of the first firms in Limburg to be awarded the Personal Injury Quality Mark. This quality mark has since been replaced by the National Personal Injury Quality Mark. Admission to this register is based on testing and established quality requirements. These are based on the rules of conduct of the GBL, the recommendations of the GOMA and the regulations of the National Personal Injury Quality Mark. Our firm has been admitted to the register.
